Journey to the West
1. Flower-Fruit Mountain
This volume is adapted and illustrated based on the first, second, and third chapters of the classical literary masterpiece 'Journey to the West'. In his quest for the art of immortality, the Handsome Monkey King ventured alone across the seas, seeking traces of immortals, and finally became a disciple of the Patriarch Bodhi in the Cave of the Three Stars on Mount Potalaka, where he was bestowed the name 'Sun Wukong'. Through diligent study and practice, Sun Wukong mastered the ability to 'move heaven and earth with ease'. He returned to the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit, defeated the 'Demon King of Confusion' who oppressed the monkeys, and then journeyed to the Kingdom of Aolai to acquire various weapons, training monkey soldiers and generals, and his fame spread far and wide.
