Journey to the West
10. Two Realms Mountain
This book is adapted and illustrated based on the thirteenth chapter of the classical literary masterpiece "Journey to the West." It depicts Tang Sanzang departing from Chang'an to journey westward to worship the Buddha and seek scriptures. Along the way, he encounters mountain demons who block his path and display their ferocity. Fortunately, the Great White Planet and the hunter Liu Boqin come to his aid, resolving the crisis. Passing through the Two Realms Mountain, Tang Sanzang takes Sun Wukong as his disciple. Wukong, in a fit of anger, departs and passes by the Eastern Sea, where he receives guidance from the Dragon King, finally coming to his senses. Returning to Tang Sanzang's side, Wukong dons the floral crown left by Bodhisattva Guanyin, and henceforth, Tang Sanzang restrains him with the Tight-Fillet Spell. The master and disciple, setting aside past grievances, embark together on the journey to retrieve the scriptures.
