13. Marshal Tianpeng

This episode is adapted from Chapters Eight and Nineteen of 'Journey to the West' and some folklore stories. Beneath Mount Fuling, there was a young man named Lazy Fortune, who was honest and sincere by nature but inherently lazy. Guided by the Star Lord Taibai, he resolved to cultivate himself. He became a disciple of Patriarch Zhao Gongming and eventually perfected his cultivation, ascending to immortality. The Jade Emperor appointed him as Marshal Tianpeng. However, after the Grand Assembly of Heaven, he drunkenly teased Chang'e and was banished to the mortal realm, mistakenly reincarnating into a pig's womb. Later, under the guidance of Bodhisattva Guanyin, he received the Buddhist precepts and was given the dharma name Zhu Wuneng. He awaited the scripture seeker, armed with a rake.
